4.11 Summary

Sorry, you are not logged in. Please login to get full access to this page or register if you're not registered yet.

I'm not going to talk much. To sum up what you just read (and that's what I believe you already remember well):

  • With links sites "vote" for each other — and Search Engines look at these votes.
  • Quality of links is much more important then their quantity.
  • You can get links for free due to outstanding content or in exchange for another link — and you can also buy links.
  • Among all kinds of links, reciprocal links are the easier of all to get.
  • Links can sit on all pages of a site — and they're called sitewide links, and they can also come from homepages and inner pages of a site.

You've also learnt how to judge on the quality of links and how to choose the right anchors for your links.

And believe me, that's quite enough to start getting big amounts of really good-working links — and this is what we're going to do next.

But first — don't forget about your quiz!

I really like it .. I'm waiting for another part ;)

I have a suggestion about the question in the quiz where you ask about the influence of no-follow link. I had to think for a while as I thought that the situation is: both sites has the same number of links, so if one site has some links with no-follow attribute then the value of the link on that page is greater as value is divided by fewer number of links. So I was confused when I read that the value of the link on both sites is the same. I think you could add that the number of links without no-follow attribute is still the same.

@Marcin

Which question do you mean? Is this question 3? I don't really see the problem here, as I'm talking about just one site - not two sites with the equal or non-equal number of links.

@Dan

I meant the explanation to question 3.

"Example: You have page C, and your link partners have two similar pages A and B, and the only difference between them is that page A has doesn't have any "nofollow" links and page B has thirty. The link from A to C and the link from B to C will have absolutely the same SEO value."

so firstly i took it as: Page A has N links, Page B has N links, Page A doesn't have any nofollow links, Page B has 30 of them. So on Page B search engine "sees" only N - 30 links. So the value of the link on page B is greater than on page A.
Well, that was my reasoning when I read it and as I wrote I got confused. Then I realized that you probably meant that site B apart from all links without nofollow atribute has 30 links with nofollow attributes. So yes, then it's ok that the values of links on both sites are the same.

So I wanted to suggest writing explicitly that the number of links without nofollow attribute is the same and that the difference is that page B has extra 30 nofollow links. But maybe It is only me who had problems with understanding it so there is no use in changing it.

Hi Marcin,
thanks a lot for the explanation. Now I'm getting your point, and getting the question changed.
